BIOGRAPHY

Patrick James Caulley was born in 1945 in St. Louis, Missouri, with an early interest in art. He completed his first sketch at age 7, sold his first painting at 15, and won several art awards during his public school years.

All throughout his years of schooling and the military, his love for art would drive him to create and paint. He designed and painted several school mascots, was commissioned to paint portraits of friends and relatives, ran the squadron drafting shop while in the United States Air Force in Germany...and even pin striped cars!

During his extensive business career, Patrick has been a technical illustrator and production artist at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Corporation; illustrator and designer with Maritz Motivation Company (winning numerous awards); art director with BMC Advertising, Crane Carrier Corporation, and Buffalo Tool Corporation; creative director with Clarion Marketing and Advertising; and owner of Fresh Heir Productions and Golden Rope Publishing.

Patrick has taught commercial art classes at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He has studied under Portrait Artist Daniel Greene, Missouri River Muralist Gary Lucy, and was a member of John Howard Sanden’s American Society of Portrait Artists.

His work has been accepted into numerous art shows in Missouri, Oklahoma, and Arizona. Patrick is, and has been represented by galleries in Tucson, Tubac and Bisbee, Arizona and also in St. Louis and Washington, Missouri.

In the summer of 1973, Patrick made Jesus Christ his Lord, dedicating his life to Him, and that love and commitment is the foundation for his life.

Some of the artists that have influenced Patrick are Howard Terpning, Frank McCarthy, Bernard Fuchs, Bob Peak, Mark English, John Singer Sargent, Norman Rockwell and Howard Pyle.
Today, Patrick has over 40 years of professional experience in fine art, portraiture, commercial art, illustration, design, computer graphics and desktop publishing...a full, well-rounded career with much left to do!

Patrick and his wife, Shar, now live in Tucson where he paints the light and shadow colors of the people, places, and things of the Sonoran Desert and is a founding member of C.A.S.A. (Christian Artists of Southern Arizona).
