The Artisan Spirit
Exodus 31:3-10

3 And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,
4 To devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass,
5 And in cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship.
6 And I, behold, ...in the hearts of all that are wise hearted I have put wisdom, that they may make all that I have commanded thee;
7 The tabernacle of the congregation, and the ark of the testimony, and the mercy seat that is thereupon, and all the furniture of the tabernacle,
8 And the table and his furniture, and the pure candlestick with all his furniture, and the altar of incense,
9 And the altar of burnt offering with all his furniture, and the laver and his foot,
10 And the cloths of service, and the holy garments...

SETTLERS WEST GALLERY EXCURSION
May 12, 2007

Saturday was a beautiful day to browse around Settlers West Gallery! We met up there at 10 a.m. to check out another impressive line-up of some of the finest western art entered in the 2007 Summer Show. As always, the gallery is a perfect setting for works of art. The grounds in front of the gallery are very beautiful too! Joining us today was Grant Harriss, Ruth Coykendall, Rex Bronnenberg, Joy Antonic, Ed Brinley (Sue stopped by for a hug), Phil Hastings, and Patrick and Shar Caulley. After spending some time viewing the great artwork, some of us ventured off to do the second most favorite thing we enjoy...eat!! We sure missed those who couldn't join us.

PLIEN AIR PAINT-OUT
April 21, 2007

Phil Hastings graciously opened his home to the group for CASA's first Plien Air Paint-Out.
The morning started off with some early rain but then opened up to a wonderful day...as you can see below.
Javalinas, palm trees, cactus of all kinds, wonderful old adobe walls and a grand tour of Phil's home including beautiful original portraits and paintings by Phil's mother, Trinkle Hastings and original watercolors and hand-blown glass by Phil, himself.
Truly a great day!
